Dr. Khatiwala
Medical DirectorDr. Khatiwala serves as the onsite medical director at Rushton Recovery. She plays an integral role in overseeing the medical department, admitting and assessing new clients upon arrival, and managing the daily medical needs of detox and residential clients. Her expertise, dedication, and compassionate approach shine through in her commitment to helping clients overcome alcohol and substance use disorders. Before joining Rushton Recovery, Dr. Khatiwala completed her residency in family medicine through Wayne State University at the Detroit Medical Center. She spent nearly 12 years in private practice in Plymouth, Michigan, earning a reputation for delivering high-quality, compassionate care. Following this, she served as medical director at Acadia Healthcare, an outpatient opioid treatment center, where she successfully led her team for four years. Continuing her mission to combat the opioid epidemic, Dr. Khatiwala became medical director at Community Medical Services, where she oversaw outpatient opioid treatment centers across Michigan. Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Khatiwala is a proud wife and mother to three active boys, balancing her career with a deep dedication to her family.

Nicholas Weiss
Clinical/Program DirectorNicholas serves as the clinical/program director at Rushton Recovery. He oversees the development of programming materials for residential clients, supervises clinical staff and interns, and provides both individual and group therapy to clients. Nicholas earned his bachelor’s degree in social work from the University of Michigan in 2008, with a minor in health education and behavior. He continued his education by completing his master’s degree in social work in 2009, launching a career dedicated to supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. Over the years, Nicholas has worked with children, adults, families, and couples, helping them navigate complex mental health challenges. In recent years, Nicholas’s focus has shifted to working with individuals facing substance use disorders. As a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC), he has developed a deep understanding of addiction as a disease that requires compassion and specialized care. Throughout his career, Nicholas has remained dedicated to empowering individuals to reclaim their lives and achieve lasting well-being and sobriety.

Health & Wellness Coach and Communications DirectorErin serves as the health & wellness coach and communications director at Rushton Recovery. She is an IAP Certified Life Coach, AFPA Certified Nutrition Consultant, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer. In her role, Erin provides daily coaching to clients, contributes to business development and community outreach, and offers ongoing support to clients post-discharge. Erin majored in marketing at University of Louisville, spent over five years as a broker in the natural gas and power industry, and founded and operated Studio West Fitness, a personal training and fitness studio. In addition to her work at Rushton Recovery, Erin provides life coaching services through her independent practice. A proud mother of four, Erin leverages her diverse professional background and empathetic nature to create a transformative client experience. She is deeply committed to empowering individuals to build lives filled with purpose, fulfillment, and sustained sobriety.

RN Director of NursingDonna Major is an accomplished Director of Nursing with over three years of experience in nursing leadership. A graduate of Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Donna earned a nursing degree that laid the foundation for a successful career in healthcare. Before entering the nursing profession, Donna served in the U.S. Army for five years during the Iraq War, gaining invaluable experience in high-pressure environments. This service shaped Donna's leadership and decision-making skills, which have since translated seamlessly into the nursing field. In addition to Donna's professional achievements, Donna is a proud parent of two children. Balancing family life with a successful career, Donna is passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality care and fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients. As Director of Nursing, Donna leads with a focus on excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered care.
